Parts or products repaired or replaced under this warranty assume the remaining warranty of the original product.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary in different jurisdictions. To obtain warranty service, please email mikej at b9creator dot com.
Exclusion to Warranty: Subject to exclusions contained herein, this Limited Warranty applies only to B9Creations hardware. It does not apply to a non-B9Creations hardware including, but not limited to, any accompanying third-party projector, even if packaged or sold with B9Creations products. This Limited Warranty does not apply to any software distributed with this product. The vat release coating is considered a consumable item, sold “AS IS”, and not subject to this Limited Warranty.

What kind of customer support do you plan?
Customer support is via the active online forum here. We will make every effort to answer questions and work through any problems. We are growing a user community where experienced users are also able to help troubleshoot issues.
What comes in the kit?
Everything required to assemble a fully functional machine with the exception of basic tools.
Specifications
What are the dimensions and resolution of the build volume?
Build volume varies, depending on resolution.
Resolutions in the x/y plane (horizontal) of 50, 75 or 100 microns are possible by adjustment of the projector’s position and focus.
Resolutions in the z (vertical) build axis from 101.6 to 6.35 microns are possible via software selection. (The minimum z axis “step” size is 6.35 microns.)
At the 100 micron x/y pixels setting, the build area is 102.4 mm (4.03″) x 76.8 mm (3.02″) x 206.4 mm (8.125″).
At the 75 micron x/y pixels setting, the build area is 76.8 mm (3.02″) x 57.6 mm (2.27″) x 206.4 mm (8.125″).
At the 50 micron x/y pixels setting, the build area is 51.2 mm (2.02″) x 38.4 mm (1.52″) x 206.4 mm (8.125″).
100 microns = 0.1 mm = 0.00394″
What about software?
Software for the B9Creator may be downloaded from this site for free. The basic software suite allows you to import a 3D model stored in standard 3D file formats such as .stl. The software allows you to slice the model and manually position simple supports, if desired. The software also controls the actual printing process. The software is available for current Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.
What tools & skills are required to assemble the kit.
In general, assembly of the kit is very straight forward and requires only a few basic tools (Screw drivers, hex and crescent wrenches, etc.). The electronics do not require any soldering.
The most challenging portion of the assembly is construction of the acrylic vat and casting of the special coating within the vat. We will be making and posting detailed instructional videos for the entire process and encourage users to become proficient at the process of re-coating the vat as this coating is considered a consumable and may need to be replaced after extended operations. We plan to offer a replacement service, but it’s really a straight forward procedure once you learn it.
What is the machine’s weight and external dimensions?
Weight: ~30lbs (13.5 kg).
Height: 31″ (79 cm)
Width: 18.5″ (47 cm)
Depth: 12″ (30.5 cm)
What controls the printer hardware?
The hardware is controlled by the included Arduino Uno with a custom shield.
A host computer (not provided) drives the printer via a USB connection with the printer’s Arduino. Video output from the host computer is fed to the printer’s Projector via VGA or HDMI connection. We suggest using a host computer with a secondary video port for ease of use.
Resin
What are the resin’s properties and how is it used?
For B9R-1-Red
Resin Properties
Density 1.10 – 1.12 g/cm3 @ 25C/77F
Viscosity 220 – 250 cps @25C/77F
Color – Red
Shore D – 70 (fully post-cured)
Ignition temperature (for direct to sacrificial casting) 330 – 370C, (fully post-cured)
Best Practices
Storage: Store in tightly closed containers designed for light sensitive material . Store product indoors at temperatures above 0C/32F and below 38C/100F. Avoid prolonged storage temperatures above 38C/100F.
Protection: Always use protective eyewear and gloves when handling liquid resin and cleaning up newly created objects.
Use: If resin has sat for an extended time, shake thoroughly before use to ensure pigment is well dispersed, allow 5-10 minutes before pouring for air bubbles to dissipate. When returning unused resin from the vat back into the container, use a painter’s disposable “filter funnel” to remove any cured “debris” that might be in the liquid.
Part Cleanup: After the part has been detached from the build platform clean remove any uncured resin by rinsing in Isopropyl alcohol (“rubbing alcohol”).
Vat Cleanup: After removing unused resin (see above), the vat may be rinsed clean with Isopropyl alcohol. Do not use abrasive cleaners or drying clothes (such as paper towels) on the PDMS coating to avoid damage (scratches or tears).
Post Cure: To reach best properties the newly created object should be post cured by placing in direct sunlight for several hours.
Is the resin material safe?
Under normal use and best practices it is very safe. See the MSDS for detailed information.
